Our Rides

Road: We currently ride out each Tuesday evening between Spring and Autumn, meeting at Beckenham Sports Club, Foxgrove Road, Beckenham, departing at 7.15pm. We run a variety of routes and groups of varying abilities as shown below. Take a look at our Strava page for some of our routes, or the examples further down this page.

We try to get back to the Club house after the ride for a few drinks.

Tuesday Evening Rides

Here are a selection of some of our Tuesday eveningrides which leave from Beckenham Sports Club in Foxgrove Road at 7:15pm. All rides are dependent on weather conditions.

The Shooters Club run is a night ride that we sometimes do in the Wiinter and is a street lamp lit route through Blackheath, Shooters Hill, Chislehurst looping from Beckenham Sports Club

Weekend Rides

We also have long weekend rides, mainly between Spring and Autumn, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays and leaving from Beckenham Sports Club at around 8:00am.

These tend to be approximately 80k but pretty much always include coffee and cake! We sometime do 100k plus routes to somewhere like Yalding and back or a coast ride down to a seaside town such as Whitstable followed by fish and chips and a few drinks and then a train back.

Membership Details

Foxgrove Cycling Club is a community cycling club aiming to provide a social environment that encourages cycling in the local community. As such, the club aims to keep the costs of membership as low as possible. All potential club members are welcome to join us for a maximum of 3 rides before they are required to join the club and have third party liability insurance.

Club Membership

Cycling membership only £25 per annum. All members are required to purchase cycling membership regardless of their membership within other club sections.
Social membership £60 per annum (access to the clubhouse, its facilities and a bar with a 10% discount on members cards)

Social membership forms are available from the bar or on the central club’s website: http://www.beckenhamcricketclub.co.uk/join.html

Please return completed forms along with payment to the club office or to the Bar Manager when the office is shut or alternatively hand to Hannah Westcar.

Third party liability insurance

All members are required to have third party liability insurance for themselves to join in on club rides. There are a number of providers but for those who have not previously been members of British Cycling, membership of British Cycling is discounted for the first year and insurance is provided through membership. If you register using Foxgrove Cycling Club as your club and use the following discount codes where you'll receive a discounted one-year membership:

Ride membership will be sufficient for most members and is available for the discounted cost of £16.50. For those who wish to participate in organised races this year, you should consider purchasing Silver or Gold membership, which comes with a provisional race license.

There are other providers of third party liability insurance that may be more suitable for you. You are free to choose whichever suits you best but if you join an organisation other than British Cycling, you will need to show proof of liability cover to the club.

There are a number of insurance companies providing 3rd party liability insurance cover and you may be covered through your home contents insurance policy.
